Error Codes on My Remote Display — Full Reference Guide
When your handset displays an error code, the desk has stopped movement for a specific reason. This guide covers every error code, what it means, and the fix for each one.
Quick Reference Table
| Code | Meaning | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| RST / RSt | Initialization required — first power-on or after reset | Hold DOWN until desk lowers fully and display shows height |
| E01 | Motor 1 (left leg) not responding or limit switch fault | Check leg cable connection; run full reset (ASr) |
| E02 | Motor 2 (right leg) not responding or limit switch fault | Check leg cable connection; run full reset (ASr) |
| E03 | Both motors not responding / sync fault between legs | Check both leg cables; run reset; check for physical obstruction |
| E07 | Overload — weight on desk exceeds rated capacity | Remove weight; run reset |
| E08 | Excessive current draw — motor or wiring fault | Unplug 30 seconds; check cables; contact support if persists |
| E09 | Control box temperature too high (thermal protection) | Unplug; allow 30 min to cool; check ventilation around control box |
| E0L | Anti-collision triggered — desk detected obstruction | Clear obstruction or cable snag; reduce sensitivity if false trigger |
Try a Reset First
For most error codes (E01, E02, E03, E07), running a full ASr reset resolves the issue after addressing the underlying cause. The reset procedure:
- Hold DOWN until the desk lowers fully and shows
ASr - Continue holding DOWN until the desk re-homes and the display shows a height number
- If the error returns immediately, the underlying fault (cable, obstruction, overload) has not been cleared
When to Contact Support
Contact support if:
- The error code persists after a reset and all cables are securely connected
- The error code returned is E08 (current fault) — this may indicate a motor or control box hardware issue
- The desk makes unusual grinding, clicking, or buzzing sounds alongside the error
