How to Change Collision Detection Sensitivity
Progressive Desk frames include anti-collision protection — if the desk meets resistance while moving, it stops and reverses. The sensitivity is adjustable in three levels. Here's how to change it.
The Three Sensitivity Levels
| Level | Force Threshold | Best For |
|---|---|---|
| Low sensitivity | ~22 lbs | Environments with children or pets — stops at very light resistance |
| Medium sensitivity | ~33 lbs | Default setting — suitable for most setups |
| High sensitivity | ~55 lbs | Heavy loads or cable tension causing false triggers |
When to Adjust
- Desk stops and reverses unexpectedly:sensitivity is too high — lower the threshold or check for cable snags first
- Children or pets present:set to low (22 lbs) so it stops even at minimal contact force
- Heavy setup with cable tension:cables pulling against the frame at height extremes can trigger false collisions — increase threshold slightly
How to Change Sensitivity
1. Enter ASr reset mode
Hold DOWN until the desk lowers fully and shows
ASr. Release.2. Press UP twice
From ASr mode, press UP once to enter mode settings, then press UP again. The display will show the current collision sensitivity value (22, 33, or 55).
3. Press UP to cycle through values
Each UP press cycles to the next level: 22 → 33 → 55 → 22. Stop on the value you want.
4. Wait to confirm
After a few seconds, the handset saves the setting and returns to normal. The desk re-initializes.
⚠️ Check cable routing first. Before increasing collision sensitivity, rule out cable snags as the cause of false triggers. A cable caught at full extension can apply enough force to trigger even the highest threshold. Fix the routing issue before adjusting sensitivity.
