How to Install a CPU Holder

An under-desk CPU holder keeps your tower off the floor, moves with the desk, and frees up floor space. Here's how to install one on your Progressive Desk frame.

Before Installing

  • Measure your tower:CPU holders have an adjustable width range (typically 2.5″–8.5″). Measure the widest point of your tower before purchasing.
  • Check weight capacity:most holders support 25–55 lbs. Weigh your tower or look up its spec to confirm it's within range.
  • Confirm clamp compatibility:most holders clamp to a horizontal crossbeam or leg column 0.5″–3.5″ thick. Verify against your frame crossbeam dimensions.

Installation

1. Attach the mounting clamp to the crossbeam

Open the clamp bracket and position it around the crossbeam. Tighten the clamp knob or hex bolt until the bracket is firmly attached. Do not over-tighten on powder-coated surfaces.

2. Adjust the tower width guides

Expand the holder's width adjusters to wider than your tower, slide the tower in, then tighten the guides until the tower is held firmly without compressing the case.

3. Test at full height range

Raise the desk to maximum height. Confirm the CPU holder doesn't contact the floor or any desk leg at any height. Lower to minimum and repeat the check.

⚠️  Cable slack for the tower. Your tower's cables (power, monitor, USB) now move with the desk. Make sure all cables connecting to the tower have enough slack for the full height range — especially the power cable and any DisplayPort or HDMI cables.
