How to Install and Program a Memory Keypad Handset
The memory keypad handset (RT-11) is the standard handset included with most Progressive Desk models. Here's how to install it, connect it to the control box, and complete initial programming.
Installing the Handset
1. Locate the HS port on the control box
The control box has a port labelled
HS or HAND. This is the handset connection port.2. Connect the handset cable
Plug the RJ45-style connector from the handset cable into the HS port. The connector clicks in when fully seated. Do not force it — it is keyed and will only go in one way.
3. Mount the handset on the desk edge
Most RT-11 handsets come with an adhesive mount pad or a screw-down bracket. Position it at the front-right or front-left of the tabletop at a comfortable reach. Route the cable under the tabletop to keep it out of view.
First Power-On
When you first power on the desk, the handset will show RST or RSt. This is normal — it means the desk needs to initialize its height range. Hold DOWN until the desk lowers fully and the display shows a height number. The handset is now active.
Programming Memory Presets
Once initialized, program your height presets:
- Move the desk to your desired height using UP/DOWN
- Hold M until the display flashes
- Press the preset number to save (1, 2, 3, or 4)
- Repeat for each preset
💡 Display overview: The RT-11 shows height in inches by default. To switch to centimetres, hold M + DOWN for 3 seconds — the unit will toggle.
