How to Level My Desk on Uneven Floors
All Progressive Desk frames include adjustable levelling feet. Here's how to use them to stabilize your desk on floors that aren't perfectly flat.
The Levelling Feet
Each leg base has a threaded levelling foot. Rotating the foot clockwise lowers that corner; counter-clockwise raises it. The adjustment range is typically ±5 mm from center — enough to compensate for most flooring variation and carpet pile height differences between room areas.
How to Level Step by Step
1. Place the desk in its final position
Don't level it mid-room and then slide it — floors vary. Level in place.
2. Test for rocking
Press each corner of the desk lightly to check which foot or feet are off the floor. A rocking pattern usually means two diagonal feet are not in full contact.
3. Adjust the raised feet
Rotate the levelling feet on the raised corners counter-clockwise (downward) until all four feet are in firm contact. Make small adjustments — a quarter-turn at a time.
4. Verify with a level (optional)
For precision setups, place a bubble level on the tabletop and adjust feet until the bubble is centered both front-to-back and side-to-side.
💡 On thick carpet: Levelling feet can sink into soft carpet over time. Consider a chair mat or hard plastic furniture cup under each foot to distribute the load and prevent sinking.
