Modesty Panel & Privacy Screen Installation
A modesty panel mounts below the tabletop front edge to conceal the frame, cables, and underside of the desk. Here's how to choose and install one on your Progressive Desk.
Panel Types
1. Clamp-On Panel
No drilling
Attaches to the front tabletop edge using clamp brackets. Easy to install and remove. Best for users who may want to change desk layouts. Works with edges 1″–2″ thick.
2. Screw-Mount Panel
Most secure
Screws directly into the underside of the tabletop. More permanent and better suited to open-plan offices where the panel sees regular contact or movement.
Sizing Your Panel
Modesty panels are sold in standard widths. The panel should match or be slightly narrower than your tabletop width:
- For a 48″ wide tabletop — use a 45″ or 48″ panel
- For a 60″ wide tabletop — use a 57″ or 60″ panel
- For a 72″ wide tabletop — use a 69″ or 72″ panel
⚠️ Minimum tabletop width: 48″. Modesty panels are not compatible with the Mini Ryzer or any tabletop narrower than 48″ — there isn't enough mounting edge length.
Installation Steps (Clamp-On)
1. Position the panel along the front edge
Hold the panel against the front of the tabletop and mark the bracket positions. Center the panel for equal overhang on both sides
2. Attach clamp brackets
Slide each bracket over the tabletop edge and tighten the thumb screw or hex bolt until the clamp grips the edge firmly. Check panel alignment after each bracket.
3. Verify clearance at sitting height
Lower the desk to its minimum height and confirm your knees don't contact the panel when seated. The panel should hang no lower than 1–2″ above your highest leg position when seated.
