My Remote Is Not Responding — Troubleshooting
If pressing buttons on your RT-11 handset produces no response — no movement, no display change — work through these steps in order before contacting support.
Initial Checks
- Is the desk plugged in?Confirm the power cord is fully seated at the control box end and the wall outlet. The display should illuminate when powered.
- Is the handset cable fully seated? The cable connects the handset to the HS port on the control box. Remove and re-seat the connector firmly — it should click.
- Is the display on?A completely blank display usually indicates a power issue rather than a handset fault. See theblank display articleif the screen shows nothing at all.
Troubleshooting Steps
1. Unplug and re-seat the handset cable
Disconnect the handset cable from the control box HS port. Inspect the connector for bent pins or debris. Re-seat firmly. Plug the desk back in and test.
2. Check for an active error code
If the display shows a code (RST, E01–E08), the desk is locked waiting for that condition to be resolved. Address the error code first — buttons won't work while an error is active.
3. Try holding DOWN for a reset
Hold the DOWN button and wait. Even if the desk doesn't move initially, hold it for 10–15 seconds. The system may still respond to a reset command even if normal button presses aren't working.
4. Try a different outlet
Plug the desk into a different wall outlet. Power strip interference or a tripped circuit can cause erratic behavior that presents as handset unresponsiveness.
💡 Still not responding after all steps? The handset cable or handset itself may be faulty. Contact support with your model name and serial number to arrange a replacement.
