Solo Ryzer Assembly — Step-by-Step Guide

A complete walkthrough for assembling your Solo Ryzer standing desk frame, attaching your tabletop, connecting the handset, and completing the first power-on initialization.

📹  Video available. A video assembly walkthrough is available at progressivedesk.com/pages/resources. This article covers the same steps in written form.

Step 1 — Unbox and Verify Contents

Before starting, lay all parts out and verify the contents against the packing list in your box. You should have:

  • Two leg columns (left and right)
  • Crossbeam / center beam
  • Control box (attached to or packaged with the crossbeam)
  • RT-11 handset and handset cable
  • Leg cable harness
  • Hardware bag (bolts, Allen keys, screws, levelling feet)
  • Assembly manual

Step 2 — Assemble the Leg Columns

1. Attach levelling feet

Thread the levelling foot into the base of each leg column. Finger-tight for now — you'll adjust them after the desk is upright.

2. Extend each leg to mid-height

Pull each inner column out to its middle position so it's easier to work with during crossbeam attachment.

Step 3 — Attach the Crossbeam

1. Slide crossbeam ends into leg bracket slots

The crossbeam slides into the bracket on each leg. Adjust the crossbeam width by sliding it wider or narrower to match your tabletop width before tightening.

2. Center the crossbeam

Measure from each leg end to the nearest edge of the tabletop mounting holes on the crossbeam to confirm it's centered. Equal measurements on both sides.

3. Tighten crossbeam bolts

Using the included Allen key, tighten the crossbeam bolts on both legs. Snug but not over-torqued — the metal is powder-coated and can scratch if bolts are over-driven.

Step 4 — Attach the Tabletop

1. Place tabletop face-down on a soft surface

Lay a blanket or cardboard on the floor. Place the tabletop face-down on it to protect the surface during frame attachment.

2. Position frame on top

Flip the assembled frame onto the underside of the tabletop. Center the frame so overhang is even on the front and back, and equal on both sides.

3. Drive mounting screws

Using the provided screws, attach the crossbeam to the tabletop through the pre-drilled mounting holes. An electric screwdriver speeds this up significantly. Do not over-drive — the screw tips should be flush with the surface.

Step 5 — Connect Cables

1. Connect leg cables to control box

Each leg column has a cable that plugs into the control box. Left leg to the left port, right leg to the right port. The connectors are keyed — they only fit one way.

2. Connect the handset

Plug the RT-11 handset cable into the handset port on the control box (usually labelled HS or HAND).

3. Route and secure cables

Use the cable clips or spine (if included) to route cables along the crossbeam and down to the floor. Avoid cables hanging freely where they can catch on the moving legs.

Step 6 — Flip Upright and Initialize

1. Flip the desk upright

With a second person, lift the desk from the face-down position to standing. Place it in its final location before plugging in.

2. Plug in the power cord

Connect the control box power cable to a standard wall outlet. The handset display should illuminate.

3. Run initialization (RST reset)

On first power-on, the handset will show RST or RSt. Hold the DOWN button until the desk lowers fully to its minimum height, then releases. This initializes the height range. After this, the desk is ready to use.

✅  Assembly complete. Your Solo Ryzer is ready. Next: set your memory presets for your sitting and standing heights.
